10 THINGS TO SEE IN JORDAN

10.Exploring the Desert Castles:

There are several well-known castles in Jordan. Among these castles, these are the most famous ones. You can visit several castles on your way to other locations, yet the Al-Azraq Castle has to be visited alone since its East Amman and there are no other major sights on the way.

  • Ajloun Castle (Around one hour and a half North from Amman. Located on top of the Ajlun hill overlooking the city).
  • Shoback Castle (aka Montreal Crusader castle) (Around two hours and a half South Amman. If you are heading to Petra from Amman, Shobak Castle is around 50 minutes away from Petra).
  • Al Karak Castle (Around two hours South of Amman and one hour from the Dead Sea. One of the largest crusader castles in the Levant region).
  • Qatrana Castle (Around one hour South of Amman and on your way to Petra and is know for being built by the by the Umayyads).
  • Al-Azraq Castle (Around one hour and a half East Amman and found in the Al-Azraq (Bleu in English) region where it is known for its strategic location being nearby an oasis in the vast desert region).
