TOP TEN SITES TO VISIT WHEN YOU ARE IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA FOR THE FIRST TIME

4- Hiking on the Superstition Mountains: Speaking of the Superstition Mountains, there’s a legend of a lost Dutchman who discovered gold in the Superstition Wilderness and revealed its location to his boarding-house owner on his deathbed. Several mines have been carried out to find the Dutchman’s gold, yet all lead to failure and death. The mountains also make strange sounds, people disappear there, there are mysterious deaths each year and the overall mountains are superstitious. For visitors who are not searching for gold, there are safe hiking trails that are family friendly that can be enjoyed especially during the spring when all the flowers are blooming. For extreme adrenaline junkies, more dangerous hiking options are found, yet a return is not always guaranteed due to the mountains’ changing climate, steep environment and dangerous wildlife. When visiting the Superstition Mountains, we enjoyed the family friendly hike and enjoyed returning safe back to our cars and we tried to listen to the sounds of the mountain that didn’t seem to be heard during the day. The Superstition Mountains are a one hour and a half away drive from Phoenix.

Here are the top ten sites that we visited during our stay in Phoenix which we enjoyed the most and we recommend.

  1. Phoenix zoo

  5. Goldfield Ghost Town
