TOP TEN SITES TO VISIT WHEN YOU ARE IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA FOR THE FIRST TIME

8- Lake Powell: A 2.5-hour drive separates you from the Grand Canyon visitor center to Lake Powell. And it is worth the ride. It is best to arrive early in the morning or late in the evening for photography enthusiast to avoid cruising under the scorching sun. From Phoenix it is a 6-hour ride which could be tiresome for most people. If you’re planning to go back to Phoenix the day after, it is best to spend the night at the Grand Canyon and shorten your way back to Phoenix the next day. Although its name gives the impression of a stagnant lake, in reality, Lake Powell is one of the largest reservoirs in the United States of America. From an aerial view it looks like veins of blue blood feeding into the desert canyons.

While it is accessible from Arizona, most of the lake including the Rainbow Bridge National Monument is located in the neighboring Utah state. This lake and its surrounding Glen Canyon National are best known as a Recreation Area offering many leisure and water activities such as fishing, camping, houseboat rental and other watercraft rentals. Once you’re there take the boat for around an hour and enjoy the panoramic views of diverse rock formations spread out into the blue water. Have your camera ready, you will be amazed by this natural beauty. At the end of your boar trip, you zigzag into the narrow canyons just before you come to a halt. You will be given 45 minutes for a short hike towards the Rainbow Bridge National Monument.
