TOP TEN SITES TO VISIT WHEN YOU ARE IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA FOR THE FIRST TIME

There were two ducks swaying from side to side as they crossed the street, behind them four little ducklings were trying to mimic their walk and trying to catch up, there were rabbits hopping in the greenery at a nearby house garden and squirrels were busy climbing up and down the palm trees, there were pigeons nesting in a nearby bush and dozens of birds singing their sweet songs, butterflies hovering aimlessly and dancing on a silent breeze melody. On the other side of the road a man walking his dog greeted us joyfully… it was a surreal morning! For me I felt like Alice who just dropped in wonderland!

Can this be true? Is this how the world looks on the other side of the globe? I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and smiled. I suddenly felt a surge of emotions conquering my body, I felt so much love for myself, my life and everyone around me. For a moment I felt that my heart had expanded and encircled the whole earth and all its beings. I felt at peace; a peace I haven’t felt for a long time, then I opened my eyes, still smiling, still happy, still in love with life, I looked at Fadi next to me. He smiled back, I was sure that he had known where I had been drifting and what I had been thinking for the past couple of minutes. I held his hand and we resumed our morning walk with the biggest smiles on our faces. At the end of our walk, we came back to my aunt’s house, made a coffee and sat on the porch overlooking the golf fields, realizing that heaven is where we want it to be.

This was our morning ritual during our visit to Phoenix, Arizona and we never got enough of it. Every day we felt like we were Alice falling back again and again into wonderland!
